"New" wreck on Svata Marina - SUBMARINE? (video)
Report and video from our exploratory and successful expedition to Croatian Svata Marina is ready ... 14 days ago, Rudi Brajdic, the owner of EASY DIVER dive center has found a new wreck. By this he has broadened an offer of dive-locations in Svata Marina, but first of all got confused all of the wreck connoisseurs as so far it is not known, what kind of boat it is. After some of the features it might be a wreck of a submarine. On the other hand the wreck is missing most of the characteristic signs of such a boat. During the weekend we have done just one dive to the wreck. Concerning the depth (50m) it is not possible to examine all of the wreck during just one dive. Anyway the dive was really interesting. Maybe be because we have done a dive to the wreck where there was no one before us (except of Rudi, Tomáš and Michal) or maybe because it is completely unknown and unidentified wreck.

Offer of diving holidays in the camp Awlad Baraka - South Egypt
Modified offer of holidays in the diver's camp AWLAD BARAKA, South Egypt. It is a good place for individuals, as well as for small or big groups. Virgin sea around Marsa Alam is a great attraction for all the diving safaris in the region. You can dive on this gorgeous places as well with no need to live for the whole week on the boat because of that. All the best locations are in the range of one day trip. This virginity won't last for much longer, as around Marsa Alam hotel complexes are built now everywhere, so maybe even then next year, you'll already find here the same amount of tourists as on the North of Egypt. So don't wait and go there ... You can just whenever!!!
Leštinka - Sunday's diving - how was it like ...
Sunday's diving took place on Leštinka. The weather had been kind to us, so it was warm and sunny for the whole day. The visibility was around 5 meters, sometimes maybe even more. We have found carps and pikes. For the lunch we had a BBQ ;-)

Dear friends and club members,
after a longer time of silence I'm again here with some news which, as I hope, will please you. The weather is still not favorable for us, water-lovers, and the promised getting warmer is still not coming. Lets dive into the world of peace and silence at least virtually and dream a bit while watching the photos from Tomáš Kurfiřt, Petr Blecha and Petr Leitner token during our Lofoten expedition. On Sunday the weather should be nice so we'll go for our Sunday's diving to Leštinka - come with us. You can find here also some trips and diving courses with František Harant or with our new PADI instructor David Pavlíček.

Trip to Croatia 31. - 04. 09. 2005
Rudi, the owner of the EASY DIVER dive center on Svata Marina has invited us to have a look on the new wrecks which he has found lately. Also we'd like to make a dive to Lena or even to Vis if the weather will be kind to us.
The price for 4 dives from the boat (2 wrecks, 2 walls), transportation, accommodation in own tents, unlimited diving from the shore and filling of the tanks is set for CZK 4.900 for the Divers Club members. There is also a possibility to get an apartment for EUR 18 - 25 per night.
The departure is on Thursday afternoon, we'll be back by Sunday evening.
Sunday's trip to Leštinka
The reported visibility 5-6m at the surface and around 3m at the bottom. I think it's worth of the trip there. If you agree with me and you don't want to spend Sunday by doing nothing come with us. Call on 604 219 598.

Dear friends and club members,
let me speak to you by this way again and bring you couple of interesting and refreshing news in these tropical days. Except of the good news there is also one bed one and that is an information about death of one of our club member and friend Mr. Tomáš Žert. I'm sure that many of you have already heard about this sad incident.
From the other news I'd like to highlight especially two of them. The first is an invitation to Croatia for 4 days of cool diving with the dive base EASY DIVER together with the new terms of courses for beginners. The second is, that for the next 2 weeks we are going together with some friends to discover some Norwegian fiords and lakes. Our trip heads to the Lofoten Islands. We will inform you about the results of our exploration. on our web site.

Sad news
13.7.2005 afternoon an accident with the sad end has happened during the dive to the wreck VIS, Croatia. Diver T. Z. from Uherske Hradiste, has by mistake used oxygen instead of planned EAN 50, during the change from trimix to deco gas in the depth of 21 m. This was followed by the CNS Oxygen Toxicity, lost of consciousness, drowning and the fall into the depths. T. Z. had been immediately caught by the other two participants of the dive, transported to the boat (for the price of skipping their own decompression) and handed for the immediate resuscitation. The resuscitation had continued all the time before the rescue boat had arrived by the participants of the trip, then by the rescue team, but unfortunately unsuccessfully. The case is at the moment under the investigation of the Croatian authorities.

Last free space for the expedition LOFOTEN 2005
Attention, Attention, Attention
One space for the trip to Norway-Lofoten got free. Departure already on this Sunday return 14.08.
The price is CZK 10.000,- including transportation, accommodation and rental of the boat. For tanks filling, food and extra boat get around extra CZK 3.000,- ready. In our group you can find such a divers as Kent or Tomas Sladek. The trip is first of all about diving, but we would like to climb the nearby mountain ranges and have a look under the surface of the lakes around as well.

Horka - new location visited during the Sunday's diving
Impressions from the Sunday's diving in German Horka are possible to tell just in one world - crystal. Excellent service of the local dive center and the cleanness of the water has hardly any competitor in the Czech Republic. At least in this part of the year. The visibility was definitely more than 10 m and the temperature of the water was not less than 6oC. We met basses, pike, sharks (plastic) and one pissing dwarf. The only thing which was turning our moods down was the vision of 3 hours spent in the car on the way back. But around the location we found lots of mushrooms from which we did an excellent dish back at home in the evening.
Definitely we were not here for the last time.

Report from the Sunday's dive
Photos from the Sunday's diving in Štětkovice. I's a pity it were not much of us then it wa supposed to. The dive was really nice, and even it was raining the day before there was a nice visibility of 7 m. Don't be too critical to the photos, it was the first try. Photo camera with the case, which was used is able in the club rental (Nicon 4 Mpx, 40 m, 1 GB memory, CZK 300 / day).

Reservoir Naděje (50)
Reservoir Naděje is located in the woods behind Cvikov. From you drive towards Travniky and then towards settlement Nadeje and through Hamr along the stream to the reservoir. The problem might be with passing through as it is necessary to pass through couple of traffic prohibitions and according to the locals police checks occur sometimes. Access to the water is pretty good, the are the stairs going directly to the water. The water is quite cold, 11oC on the top and 5oC at the bottom (end of May 2005). The maximum depth is 4,5 m but the visibility was around 8 - 10 m. On the bottom there is lots of wood, from the side of the dam some plants are growing. I saw couple of trouts there, but they were too fast so I was not able to take the pictures. The rest might be seen from the photos. Regards ... Tom.
Croatia - Dive Center EASYDIVER - courses in Czech
Slovenian dive center located in the marina next to the camp Sveta Marina (nearby town Labin) in Croatia, offers the professional services for their diving clients. During our last visit there we made some dives at the local wrecks and caves. Dear friends and club members,
I'd like to bring you by this message again couple of interesting news together with an invitation for the club events. The time period from my last newsletter had been very rich for the news - first of all we have visited Croatia together with some of our club members and got the experiences with the local dive center. How was it in Marina in Croatia - short but didactic story with the weight
In our weekend's expedition to wreck VIS had participated: Jirka, Lenka, Tomáš a Kent. During two and half days we have done 4 dives. Two wreck dives (VIS - depth 50 m, LENA - depth 30 m), one night dive (cave - depth 22 m) and one day dive (tunnels - depth 25 m). About the wrecks I will write more in the section wrecks where I'll put some photos and first of all the video. Now it will be finally in colors, as Aleš Benda has borrowed us a prototype of the lamp 50 Watt HID. It gave us an excellent light!
The weather and the visibility under the water were just perfect! Also the service of the local dive center "Easy Diver" was on very high standard. For the club members of Divers club I have arranged a special price of pro-longed weekends - package of 4 dives for EUR 80 (including tank filling, dive guide, and dives from the boat (one wreck dive to wreck Vis or Lena, depending on the experiences of the group or the individual). Accommodation in the camp is for about EUR 7 / day for the tent and car. The distance from Prague is about 840 Km.
Didactic story. Not long ago I have started to dive with the dry suit. After the difficulties of the novice, I have set up a perfect amount of weight and had no more problems with diving in dry suit. Anyway I still was not absolutely sure with that. This caused also a little bit of nervousness while getting ready for the dive to the wreck Lena. Descending was OK, just during the first meters on the way down I had to help myself with couple of kicks with the fins where the buoyancy didn't pull me up anymore. The dive itself was without any problems and lasted 30 minutes in the depth of 40 m. So my computer obviously showed me some minutes of decompression. During the ascend, in the depth of 18 m, I found out, that I'm not able to achieve the neutral buoyancy anymore, even when my BCD and dry suit were completely deflated. It was just pulling me up, but fortunately my buddy Kent noticed my ascend and brought me down and suggested me to pick some stone to have more weight on. There was a lot of stones, but for some unknown reason I haven't managed to pick any so at the end we ended in around 13 m, sticked to the rock and Kent hugged to my leg ;-) Definitely it was a great view at us! We had emptied my tank as well as Kent's twin set and still we haven't finished the decompressions showed by the computers. (we were missing 7 minutes according to Kent's Aladin, but according to my Suunto everything was all right). Aladin got blocked and for the next dives it refused to work. And why all that? Easy answer! With my nervousness I haven't realized that for the salt water I need more weight than to the sweet water. Thanks to Kent for most probably saving my life and in the same moment I recommend to everyone not to underestimate preparation and the check dive as I did.

SIPADAN - Luděk Šefc
Diving at Sipadan is unique by its enormous quantity of turtles, sharks (first of all the
Whitetip reef sharks but also
Grey reef sharks or
Smooth hammerhead
not many of the last ones)), big fish and huge fish shoals. Beautiful coral gardens, monumental caves with the remains of turtles who have swum inside and not found the way out to the air. The temperature of the water: 30 degrees in the lagoon, during the dive stable temperature of 29 degrees which without the noticeable thermocline dropped in the depths of 40-50m down to 28-27 degrees ;-)
Štětkovice/Bořená Hora - Divers Club
New location in the section "Domestic locations" - Štětkovice. Couple of photos and video from our regular Sunday's trip which took place on 08. 05. 2005. This quarry is definitely much more interesting than Miličín, as it is larger, deeper and the visibility is more or less the same. I can really advice you this location. There is even a chance to see the carps, basses and other vermin ;-) .
If you're interested to take place in our trips, get in touch with us via phone, as we are not able to say in advance if we'll go or not, because of the weather conditions and other factors.

Freediving course in Awlad Baraka Egypt ... How was it like?
It would so easy just to write "it was beautiful" ;-). Compared to the expectations, the course itself was very easy going. Well, maybe except of the last day, when everyone could test hers/his own limits in static or dynamic apnea - and that hurt a little. Everyday after the breakfast a short briefing was on, where we found out what will be on during the day and learned the next technique how to start that "diver's reflex". There was more and more of these techniques and by their repetition their efficiency was improving as well as the time necessary for getting ready for not breathing was shortening. Of course the special stretching, exercises of diaphragm and breath exercises were not missing between the techniques. The camp staff was thinking we are crazy at the beginning, but they got used to us after some time ;-) After the briefing and warm up we went to the water for the training of the static apnea (which is like static diving, basically it's just about lying on the surface with the face down). This training was in the atmosphere of absolute calm and relaxation. In fact it's more about relax than about diving. The times of everyone were getting longer and longer by the time, (from 1 minute to the fantastic 5min4sec). Me personally from 1min30 to almost 4 minutes. The afternoon program was oriented towards the practicing of dynamic diving. From the special cross construction with buoys at the ends we have done at the beginning the short dives, but by the time longer and deeper trips to the blue depths. At the end I'd like to really recommend this experience to all water-lovers. And smokers - don't worry ... I've smoked all the time, even Dan had big fun of me ;-)

Dear friends and club members ,
this time I have for you a very interesting collection of "skinny-dippers". You don't know what those are? These are kind of sea slugs or snails without the shell. They are beautiful, colorful and bittie. Photos of them took on the Philippines the real expert - Mr. Libor paček with his girlfriend Sabina. More about diving on the Philippines and other photos of different interesting animals you can find within the Gallery in the section Foreign locations (here). And how do you find the smallest sea horse? (it's less than 1cm high :-)

The Philippines - info and photos from Libor paček
Instructor and photographer Libor paček is currently with his girlfriend Sabina on the Philippines working in the local dive center. Up to now he has written about his staying there and experiences just couple of sentences, but you can already look forward longer report to come out in the summer release of the OCEÁN magazine.
